SPORTS
Sports
Officer students have diverse options for exercise both within the garrison area and outside of it.
ROS-CUP
During the course, units compete in ROS-CUP. The competitions are organised by the Sports Section, and its events could include street basketball, football, anti-tank mine crucifix, or activity tracking of the Vilniemi run, depending on the course. The teams are mustered from each unit’s officer students by their respective Sports Chief. At the end of the course, the winning unit is awarded a challenge cup.
EXERCISE OPPORTUNITIES AT OUR GARRISON
The garrison area of the Reserve Officer School and the surrounding city of Hamina offer officer students excellent and versatile options for exercise. You will find the most important places for sporting opportunities in the list below.
- Street basketball fields on the grounds of the Main Building and the artillery barracks.
- The garrison area also houses an obstacle course, a frisbee golf course, and a grass field fitted with football goals.
- There is an outdoor gym next to the grass field.
If a unit has, for example, numerous enthusiastic floorball players, officer students are well served by choosing a unit Sports Chief to arrange booking of shifts through the unit’s staff.
